This original production, based on the exploits of Henry Muge and his fellow Devon Pirates, was performed in the stunning setting of Start Farm, Start Point, Kingsbridge, South Devon. Written and directed by the renowned Gail Rosier, with the help of the cast, the performance comprised of a series of interlinking stories based on the adventures of Henry Muge (the last man hung at Start Point for Piracy) and an array of colourful, comedic and tragic West Country Pirates.

For seventeen fantastically successful years the Acorn Music Theatre Company has enchanted audiences, young and old alike, with its creative and innovative music theatre productions based on myths and legends of the world including ‘The Odyssey’, ‘The Hound of Ulster’, ‘Tyger Tyger’ and ‘The Arabian Knights’.

The young people of Acorn have performed in many weird and wonderful places including Zippo’s Circus at the Edinburgh Festival, the Grahamstown Festival in South Africa, the Henley Festival of Music and Art as well as in various barns and fields around the country! This summer they returned to the depths of Devon with their latest piece of dynamic physical theatre – ‘A Fictitious Account of the Life and Times of Henry Muge (a Pirate Comedie and Lamentable Tragedie) - Full and Unabridged!
